In this section you’ll find answers to the questions we are asked most often, to help you understand whether Bel campà is the right place for you.
We aim to be as clear and transparent as possible, so guests can arrive with the right expectations.

How far is the nearest town?

Monteodorisio is a 2-minute drive from us, while Vasto can be reached in about 10–12 minutes. The village is small, but it offers essential services such as grocery shops and a pharmacy. In the city you will find virtually everything.

How far is the sea?

In around 20 minutes you can reach the Punta Aderci Nature Reserve, Punta Penna and Casalbordino Marina, while all the beaches of Vasto are about 25 minutes away.

Do you offer a shuttle service to Pescara Airport?

No, we do not offer a transfer service to and from the airport.

Are the rooms wheelchair accessible?

We have tried to make the ground-floor rooms as accessible as possible. There is a ramp from the parking area to the room and no steps. In the bathroom, sanitary fittings are raised, showers are walk-in, and the sink allows easy access. The spaces are generous and the furnishings do not obstruct movement. The narrowest door is 87 cm wide in the Earth Room and 73 cm in the Fire Room. The passage between the two, in case of renting the duplex, is 71 cm wide.

Is there air conditioning?

At the moment, air conditioning is available only in the Air and Water Rooms. The ground-floor rooms are more sheltered from the sun and remain relatively cool even in summer, but a fan is provided for particularly hot days.

Is there an internet connection?

Yes, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

Is there a TV?

We have chosen not to place TVs in the rooms, but there is one in the breakfast room. From time to time we organize stargazing evenings, either under the open sky or with a telescope, beach aperitifs, and we provide books of various genres and board games. And what could be nicer than enjoying the sunset while walking among the olive trees or listening to the sounds of the night while relaxing in a hammock? You won’t miss the TV, we promise.

Is there parking available?

Yes, there is the parking space next to the house, within the property.

Can I come with a camper van or a tent?

Unfortunately, we cannot freely turn the garden into a campsite or camper area without the necessary administrative, urban planning and health authorizations. In addition, tent camping would require at least an outdoor bathroom and protection from wildlife, which are currently not available.

Is smoking allowed?

To ensure the best possible comfort for our guests, we have designated specific smoking areas where smoking does not disturb others. Smoking is prohibited throughout the rest of the property, including the olive grove and the garden. Guests are required not to discard cigarette butts on the ground and to use the ashtrays provided or suitable temporary solutions (such as small containers, tissues, etc.).

Do you accept pets?

We are happy to welcome animals, provided their humans are aware of the context. Two dogs and one cat live permanently on the property, and the outdoor areas are not fenced. One of our dogs is young and visually impaired, with a very physical and exuberant approach that may be challenging for more reserved dogs; the other dog is more wary and tends to protect him. The cat moves freely around the property and may be encountered in the garden. For these reasons, we particularly recommend this accommodation to guests with sociable, well-managed pets that are used to sharing spaces with other free-roaming animals. We understand that accidents can happen, but if they occur due to owner negligence, any damage will be charged.

Do you offer only vegan breakfasts or also traditional ones?

The breakfast offered at Bel campà is exclusively vegan. This is a conscious choice, consistent with the identity of the property and our idea of hospitality.

Do you make exceptions for children or elderly guests?

No, we do not make exceptions based on age. Our breakfast is designed to be varied, nutritious and accessible, and we believe that even those who are less accustomed to a plant-based diet can find options suited to their tastes.

I’m not vegan — can I still book?

Absolutely. Bel campà is a cruelty-free property, but this does not mean it is reserved exclusively for vegans. Our place is open to anyone who looks beyond prejudice and wants to experience simplicity and respect for life. And if you happen to miss meat… well, this is Abruzzo: restaurants serving the most classic local traditions are certainly not lacking!

Who are your typical guests?

We welcome anyone who loves nature and animals. We are in open countryside, secluded, surrounded by olive trees and fruit trees, under a sky that offers incredible starry nights. Among our guests you will find not only vegans, but also birdwatchers, naturalists, environmentalists, cycle-tourists, groups of friends and families who care about offering their children new and meaningful experiences.

Can I bring or consume animal-based food purchased elsewhere?

Not in the shared areas of the property. Each room is equipped with a mini-fridge that guests may use to store products purchased during their stay and consume them in their room, which remains a private space. In shared areas, however, we ask guests to respect the cruelty-free philosophy of the property.

If I bring my own BBQ, can I cook meat?

No, we’re sorry.

If I move away from the house but remain within the property, can I cook meat?

No, we’re sorry — you would still be within a property that aims to be cruelty-free. But don’t worry: we are surrounded by beautiful picnic areas where you can freely enjoy yourself.

Why no milk?

Milk is a food that mammals produce only when they give birth to a young. Dairy cows are artificially inseminated, give birth, and the calf is immediately taken away and isolated. The distress they experience is the same felt by all mammals when their offspring are taken from them. Male calves are then slaughtered, while females are impregnated. We believe that the fleeting taste of a little milk or cheese does not justify this cruelty. Added to this are the health implications of consuming animal fats and the environmental impact of intensive farming.

Why no eggs?

The egg industry involves highly stressful and cruel living conditions for hens, which in most cases spend their entire lives in cramped and overcrowded spaces. In addition, male chicks are still killed, as they are considered useless.

Can I kill mosquitoes, spiders or other animals?

We are not extremists. Whenever possible, we try to remove unwanted guests without harming them, especially species that are useful to the ecosystem, such as spiders, house centipedes or snakes. We respect life even when it takes the form of an insect, but this does not mean accepting harm from animals such as mosquitoes, sand flies or stink bugs. For example, to avoid losing our olive production, we must fight the olive fly, and we have not yet found an effective and cruelty-free solution. We try to compensate by encouraging biodiversity, with flowers, insect logs, nests and feeders placed around the property. All openings in the house are fitted with mosquito screens, but if you find a spider in your room and don’t feel comfortable approaching it, call us and we will gently escort it outside.

Do you clean the rooms? How often is linen changed?

Rooms are cleaned every 3 days and at each change of guest, with sheets and towels replaced. If you prefer a higher or lower frequency, please let us know at the beginning of your stay so we can organize accordingly.

Is there a washing machine I can use?

We do not offer a laundry service, but we have a washing machine for the property that we can make available to guests if necessary.

Is it possible to have lunch or dinner with you?

Unfortunately, at the moment we are not able to offer half-board or full-board service.

How much do the courses cost?

Some courses and activities are free or have symbolic prices, as knowledge and time are shared without direct expenses — for example, astronomical evenings or photography advice. For cooking classes or beach aperitifs, however, we ask for a reasonable contribution to cover costs.

Do you rent bicycles?

At the moment, we do not have bicycles available for rent.

I don’t know the area — can you help me plan a tailor-made itinerary?

Absolutely. Depending on your preferences and expectations, we will guide you towards nature-based, seaside, artistic, historical, religious routes or a mix of must-see places.

Are there dog-friendly beaches nearby?

Yes, there are several free beaches that allow dogs, including Mottagrossa, the small beach known as La Bagnante, Beach No. 1 at the border between Vasto and San Salvo, and the northern area of the Petacciato pinewood coastline.

Do you offer a dog-sitting service?

Every dog has its own personality, habits and small anxieties. If your companion is gentle and used to being around people and other dogs, we will have no problem taking care of them while you visit places that may not be suitable.
